Preliminary work has been undertaken by AB Heritage to identify any potential archaeological features on the site. This has concluded that there are no listed buildings in proximity to the site or any other heritage features that would be impacted upon by the development.

A geophysical survey (which uses an instrument that detects fluctuations in the gravitational and magnetic field) undertaken on the site detected some possible archaeological features within the boundaries of the site. These features are likely to relate to previous field boundaries, possibly the known kiln site and some previous quarrying activity, all of which is located in the northerly fields which are to be retained as part of the wildlife site and kept free from development.

By incorporating these mitigation measures, which will avoid direct impact on areas that may have archaeological interest, will mean that no significant adverse impacts on any such features would occur.
